Becoming an EMP Canada Emergency Care Instructor

Find out what thousands of other Instructors already know: EMP Canada is good for your business! With our comprehensive emergency care training products and services as well as considerable marketing and advertising support:

  • You'll save time
  • You'll save money
  • You'll love the flexibility

The certification process for new EMP Canada Instructors

  • For those new to emergency care training, follow the four-step Instructor certification process outlined below
  • For current health care providers, such as an EMR, PCP, First Responder level 3, or if you have Advanced level first aid and CPR training, you can skip Step One

Step One
Attend and successfully complete student-level training for the programs you wish to teach. This will provide you with an understanding of the course content and the physical skills necessary to be able to perform effective emergency care. If you currently possess these skills, you've already completed Step One!

Step Two
Complete our instructor self-study system to learn about EMP Canada instructional design and basic class administration. We have condensed this traditional classroom-based information into a self-paced resource, so you can study anytime, anywhere.

Step Three
Attend and successfully complete a classroom training session. This session is designed to help new Instructors become skilled in presenting the instructional elements found in EMP Canada Training Programs, including Real-time Demonstrations, Small Group Practices, Talk-through Scenarios, and Performance Evaluations.

Step Four

Establish or affiliate with an EMP Canada Training Centre. As an EMP Canada Instructor, you may teach for multiple Training Centres, but you can be affiliated with only one Training Centre that is responsible for you.

To affiliate, complete the EMP Canada New Instructor application and submit it with copies of your current credentials to your Training Centre Director. If you are the Training Centre Director, be sure to have these documents on file to present to EMP Canada in the event of an audit. The Training Centre Director must submit the Instructor application and authorization fee to EMP Canada.

The certification process for non-EMP Canada Instructors

  • For those of you who are an Instructor training with another training program, complete the following steps to cross over to a Trainer-level Instructor

Step One
Establish or affiliate with an EMP Canada Training Centre.

Step Two

Complete the EMP Canada Instructor application and submit it with copies of your current credentials to your Training Centre Director. If you are the Training Centre Director, simply make sure that you have these documents on file to present to EMP Canada in the event of an audit.

Step Three

Your Training Centre Director will submit the Instructor application and fee to EMP Canada.
