Course overview

There comes a time in every manager's work life when you have to tell someone that their work is not meeting expectations. It's difficult, because you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, or to take disciplinary action for performance issues, but you still need a productive and successful team. When you have an underperforming employee, it might be easier to say nothing, until the problem gets so bad that you have to deal with it but that just leaves your team open to failure and regret. Having concerned conversations can help you address the problem and prevent things from getting out of hand. In this course, we'll talk about how to have a concerned conversation with someone on your team.
