Ladder Safety Tips

Welcome to another HSI Safe in Sixty.

Safety is the most important rung on your ladder of priorities.

If your ladder has any defects, remove it from use and let others know.

For every 4 feet in height, set the base 1 foot out. Make sure the base of the ladder is level and secure.

Ensure the ladder extends 3 feet above the landing place and secure the top. Face the ladder when you climb and don't stand on.

the top two steps, or above the highest standing level recommended by the ladder's manufacturer.

Maintain three points of contact when climbing, meaning either two hands and one foot, or two feet and one hand. Use a tool belt, and wear flat, closed-toe shoes with non-slip soles.

Until next time, remember: Your safety is worth the extra minute.
