Learning objectives

  • Recognize Workplace Fire Hazards and Extinguisher Types n Learners will identify common workplace fire hazards, understand fire classifications (A, B, C, D, and K), and determine the appropriate fire extinguisher type for each.
  • Demonstrate Proper Fire Extinguisher Use n Learners will be able to apply the PASS (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) method to ensure they can safely and effectively operate a fire extinguisher.
  • Apply Workplace Fire Safety Procedures and Emergency Protocols n Learners will understand their organization's fire safety policies, including when to use a fire extinguisher, when to evacuate, and how to follow the emergency action plan.
  • Assess Fire Situations Before Acting n Employees will be able to evaluate a firers size, location, smoke conditions, and exit accessibility to determine whether it is safe to use a fire extinguisher or if evacuation is necessary. (if necessary)
