  • List the common types of refrigerant used in air conditioning applications
  • Explain the purpose of the compressor, condenser, metering device, and evaporator
  • Describe the four steps of the basic refrigeration cycle

Course overview

Air conditioning reduces indoor temperature and/or humidity for personal comfort and safety or to protect sensitive equipment from damage. To do so, an air conditioner transfers heat from one location to another through the refrigeration cycle process. The Air Conditioning Fundamentals training course explains the basic refrigeration cycle and how it applies to air conditioning.

This online training course covers heat transfer, air conditioning components, and the basic refrigeration cycle. Air Conditioning Fundamentals is part of the Heating & Cooling Fundamentals training series.
