Course overview
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, an average of 1.3 million nonfatal crimes occur in the workplace across the country every year. And in California, in one year alone, 59 people were killed in incidents of workplace violence. In response, the state of California passed a new law in 2023 aimed at reducing incidents of workplace violence and raising awareness of violence prevention among workers. This law outlines specific parameters for what your company must do to put policies in place to prevent it. All employers in California, with a few notable exceptions, must implement a workplace violence prevention plan. In this course, we'll cover what the provisions and requirements are for that plan.
