Cryogenic Safety (UNV-32.2)

Cryogenic Safety (UNV-32.2)

Learning objectives

  • Identify safe handling procedures for cryogens
  • Identify cryogenic hazards

Course overview

Cryogenic technology is used in laboratories to create temperatures far below that of any standard freezer. For many types of laboratory work, these temperatures are a necessity. However, such low temperatures can create hazards. Fortunately, following some simple safe work practices and procedures can help protect employees in the lab. When an employee has completed this course, they should be able to identify cryogenic hazards and safe handling procedures.

The individuals involved in the development and promotion of this course do not receive any compensation or financial benefits outside of their regular employment for their work on this course.
