District energy systems play an important role in how campuses, hospitals, and dense urban areas efficiently meet heating and cooling demands. In this course, learners explore how centralized plants distribute steam, hot water, and chilled water to multiple buildings through shared underground networks. Real-world examples and explanations illustrate how district energy works, including common configurations such as combined heat and power systems. Learners also review key advantages and disadvantages to better understand when district energy is an effective solution for modern facilities.
