Course overview
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems can pose a variety of hazards. Workers who service HVAC equipment on campus have to contend with a wide variety of physical hazards, work environments and building materials. Each building's specific ventilation system and tasks being performed can involve different procedures and precautions. While some situations require site-specific training, there are general safe practices workers need to take to protect themselves. Learners who successfully complete this course should be able to identify general safety considerations for HVAC workers and machine hazards associated with HVAC equipment. They should also be able to identify hazardous materials associated with HVAC equipment, and additional considerations for HVAC employees.
