Course overview

Lithium metal and lithium ion batteries are increasingly common and popular. They appear in a vast array of consumer electronics, industrial tools, medical equipment, telecom equipment and electric and hybrid vehicles. Lithium batteries are generally very safe, but like all battery technologies they can be hazardous if not used and stored properly. This course will help learners recognize the different types of lithium batteries and their hazards, and identify proper handling, storage, disposal and emergency response procedures for lithium battery facilities.
