Course overview

Employees on oil and gas worksites may be exposed to hazards that could cause serious injury or even death. When a hazard exists, employers will use controls to eliminate or reduce the hazard to a safe level. If other controls don't provide enough protection, employers may use personal protective equipment, or PPE. Employees who have completed the course should be able to identify common types of PPE and their uses. They should also be able to identify OSHA?s requirements for PPE, and the responsibilities employees and employers have for selecting, using, and maintaining PPE. This course is available in English and Spanish.
