621-07 - PLC Network Protocols

Learning objectives
- Explain the ISO/OSI seven-layer model
- Discuss a Fieldbus, industrial network and identify its attributes
- Discuss a PROFIBUS (Process Fieldbus) industrial network and identify its attributes
- Discuss a DeviceNet industrial network and identify its attributes
Course overview
Programmable logic controllers (PLC) have certain protocols they must follow to communicate with the network. The PLC Network Protocols training course examines common protocols used in industrial computer networking. It provides a basic understanding of these protocols. This online course discusses network protocol overview, FOUNDATION Fieldbus networks, PROFIBUS networks, and DeviceNet. PLC Network Protocols is part of the Programmable Logic Controllers training series.
