What is Silica?
Crystalline silica is a basic component of soil, sand, granite and many other minerals.
Crystalline silica is:
- Found in many common materials on construction sites
- Found in dust created by cutting, grinding, drilling, or disturbing materials containing silica
- Very small and cannot be seen
- Classified as a lung carcinogen and can cause silicosis
