Course overview

Driving is an important part of life for most Canadians, but it comes with its own set of dangers. Transport Canada reports there are approximately 2,000 motor vehicle deaths and 10,000 serious motor vehicle injuries in Canada every year. Driving safely and defensively can help avoid accidents, protecting drivers, passengers, and other people on the road. Learners that successfully complete this course should be able to identify safe driving practices, recognize potential road hazards, and identify unsafe driving behaviours. This course is intended for general industry employees in Canada who, in the course of regular work duties, are required to operate a motor vehicle on public roads. Employers may also be interested in these related courses: Distracted Driver, Road Rage, Hazards of Speeding, Delivery Driver Safety, and Hazardous Driving Conditions. This course is available in both English and French.
