Course overview
Excavation cave-ins cause serious and often fatal injuries. Excavation incidents are a major cause of death, accounting for almost 1% of all annual workplace deaths. To prevent accidents, injuries and death in these situations, a number of safety precautions must be implemented. The Excavation and Trenching Safety for Construction training course identifies hazards and methods of protecting workers from hazards during excavation and trenching operations. It describes the role of a competent person and the responsibilities of the employer and employee during these operations. Excavation and Trenching Safety for Construction is part of the Construction Safety training series.
