Hello-I’m Jill, Chief Safety Officer with HSI Learning Systems. Employers often ask if they need to have SDS’s or Safety Data Sheets for commercial products such as the one’s you and I may use at home such as Windex.

OSHA’s Interpretation of the Hazard Communication law says that employers do not have to maintain SDS’s for commercial products if, those products are used in the same manner and at the same frequency that we would use them in our homes as a typical consumer.

I hoped this helped clarify one aspect of Hazard Communication Compliance.
