Learning objectives

  • Identify the OSHA requirements for medical services and first aid as they relate to the electrical utility industry.
  • Identify the correct actions to take during an initial response to an accident or first aid situation.
  • Identify the correct actions to take when providing first aid for the following situations: examining the victim, bleeding, shock, and burns.
  • Identify the correct actions to take when providing first aid for the following situations: electric shock, head and spinal injuries, and fractures.

Course overview

The goal of this lesson is to provide awareness training for electrical workers about the OSHA requirements related to the electrical utility industry for medical services and first aid, as well as the correct actions to take during an initial response to an incident or first aid situation, including examining the victim, bleeding, traumatic shock, burns, electric shock, head and spinal injuries, and fractures.

The individuals involved in the development and promotion of this course do not receive any compensation or financial benefits outside of their regular employment for their work on this course.
