Course overview
Even though the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) was passed in 1978, discrimination due to pregnancy is still a big problem in the United States. In 2022 alone, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or the EEOC, received 73,485 new discrimination charges. This was close to a 20% increase from the previous year! In this course, we'll go over employee rights under this law so that if you or someone you care about becomes pregnant, gives birth, or experiences a pregnancy-related condition, you'll have a strong understanding of your federal rights within any applicable organization. We'll go over the basics of the act, what the PDA prohibits, and some frequently asked questions regarding the law.
