Critical Airway Management

Course overview
Supporting a patient’s airway, ventilation, and respiration is a priority for EMS providers.
Critical Airway Management reviews how EMS providers can approach airway interventions with the airway continuum in mind and can improve the speed and effectiveness of airway insertion techniques when the patient’s presentation demands these interventions.
The airway management continuum of care is an approach that encourages EMS providers of all levels to support a patient’s airway, ventilation, and respiration with the least invasive and clinically appropriate intervention possible. Providers who consider the continuum with recognize that less invasive interventions can prevent the need for an invasive airway or make the placement of an invasive airway safer and more effective.
