New Improved OSHA 10 & 30 Outreach Cards Coming Soon

Back in 2016, the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) upgraded official Outreach Training Program course completion cards, for the 10 & 30-Hour courses delivered by live instruction, exclusively.

Today, through our partnership with OSHA, the Health & Safety Institute’s Summit Training Source is pleased to announce that OSHA is now allowing authorized online OSHA 10 & 30 course vendors to supply these improved cards to participating customers. Soon, upon successful completion of Summit’s OSHA 10 & 30 online courses, construction workers and general industry employees will be issued these improved cards, starting in January of 2019.

So, what is the big deal? These new DOL-OSHA cards will be a welcomed upgrade for students and offer the following benefits:

The new plastic cards will endure every day life much better than the paper cards. Water, wallets, purses, washing machines and pocket wear are just some of the more common concerns associated with destruction of the paper cards that OSHA has long issued. Since most workers will be carrying their card for a minimum of 3-5 years—and some workers for life—the new durability is a great benefit.

The QR code will allow employers and job sites to easily verify employee course completion and authenticate that the card belongs to the worker holding it. The QR code is easily scanned with a smart phone and will provide a link to the card’s authorizing OSHA OTI Education Center for that employee.

Below is an example of what the new OSHA cards will look like front and back. This example is my official trainer card!
