Aerial Lift Safety
Aerial Lift Safety
Welcome to another HSI Safe in Sixty.
Heads up! Everyone who works on an aerial lift needs training, and your equipment needs to be maintained.
Operate your lift on a level, stable surface. Access gates and openings need to be closed and latched. Stand firmly on the floor, never on rails or ladders.
Attach your harness or belt to the boom or basket with a lanyard. Never position yourself between overhead hazards.
Stick to load limits, and always include the weight of the worker, tools, and materials. When you park on an incline, set the brakes and use wheel chocks.
Treat anything conductive like it's energized, even if it's down or seems insulated, until you have confirmation otherwise.
Stay at least 10 feet from the nearest overhead lines.
Until next time, remember: Your safety is worth the extra minute.
