Behavior Based Safety (BBS) for Workers

Welcome to another HSI Safe in Sixty.

Behavior-based safety is a proactive safety management approach that focuses on identifying and reinforcing safe behaviors while addressing and reducing unsafe actions in the workplace.

Safety culture isn't built by policies. It's built by people. By you.

Every time you work safely, speak up about a hazard, or look out for a coworker, you're creating a culture where safety matters.

Whether you wear PPE, follow procedures, or take shortcuts, others notice. You might not notice, but your behavior sets the standard more than any messaging memo or management talk.

If you work safely, those around you will too. Safety is a team effort.

When you care about your coworkers' safety as much as your own, everyone goes home safe.

See a hazard or near miss? Say something. Speaking up feels uncomfortable, but silence enables unsafe work.

Until next time, remember: Your safety is worth the extra minute.
